Wedding Makeup & Skincare Prep

✅ 1 Month (or More) Before the Wedding

  • Stop touching/picking your face – it causes breakouts and irritation.

  • Stick to a basic skincare routine – morning and night.

  • Drink lots of water – aim for 2 liters a day.

  • Practice your makeup look – do trial runs so you feel confident.

  • Whiten teeth early – don’t rush; whitening products can cause sensitivity.

Skincare Basics

  • Gentle brands to try: CeraVe or Cetaphil – fragrance-free and good for all skin types.

🧴 Figure Out Your Skin Type

  1. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser.

  2. Don’t apply anything afterward.

  3. After 30 minutes, check your skin:

    • Dry: Tight, flaky, small pores.

    • Oily: Shiny, slick, large pores.

    • Combination: Some areas oily, some dry.

    • Normal: Balanced, no obvious issues.

🧼 Topical Skincare Routine

You don’t need 15 products—just these essentials:

  • Cleanser – remove dirt/oil daily (double cleanse at night).

  • Moisturizer – keeps skin soft, morning and night.

  • Eye Cream – hydrates delicate skin, use AM and PM.

  • Exfoliant – 1–2x a week only to remove dead skin.

  • Sunscreen – wear daily, rain or shine. Indoors too if near windows!

🥗 Eat for Your Skin

Support your skin from the inside out:

  • Drink Water (2L/day)

  • Green Tea

  • Berries

  • Fatty Fish (salmon, mackerel, herring)

  • Nuts/Seeds (almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds)

  • Leafy Greens (spinach, kale, arugula)

  • Bell Peppers (any color)

  • Dark Chocolate

  • Avocado

  • Carrots

  • Bone Broth

💄 Wedding Day Makeup Tips

Prep:

  • Start with your skincare routine.

  • Use minimal (if any) sunscreen on the wedding day to avoid photo flashback.

  • Do your eyeshadow (not mascara) before your base (face makeup) to avoid eyeshadow fallout.

🗓️ 1 Week Before the Wedding

  • Skincare should now be a solid habit!

  • Waxing? Do it a few days before, not right before.

  • Plucking/Shaving? Also do it a couple days ahead of time.

  • Face Mask: Try a peel-off or sheet mask after cleansing/exfoliating.

  • Brighten skin: Rub a lemon slice with sugar on your face at night (vitamin C + exfoliation).

  • Breakouts?

    • Dab with eyedrops (anti-inflammatory).

    • Crush aspirin + water paste for spot treatment (leave on 5 mins).

  • Mani/Pedi: Get them done a day or two before—fresh and pretty!

  • Hydration: Drink water & slather on eye cream and moisturizer every night.
